Hello Springtime!
![]()
Moving to the country has altered many of my perceptions. When I came to S. Agata I hoped for a peaceful, simpler and more quiet life. Instead I have discovered a whole slew of emotions that come and go with the seasons. Now it is the pressure of Springtime: an explosion of colors, smells and sensations, and eveything seeming to move upwards. I’m also becoming preoccupied, like a farmers, with the weather. Even as I delight in the budding peach and cherry blossoms, anxiety sets in: let’s hope it doesn’t frost during the night; will it rain enough? will it rain too much? I’m witnessing a miracle: the promise in the budding trees and plants and how the flowers turn into fruit. There is only one big regret: that Spring doesn’t last longer.
